Swati is a Grassroots Mobilization & Community Engagement Consultant at Feminist Approach to Technology (FAT). She holds an M.A. in History from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, and is a development professional with 8+ years of experience in education, gender, adolescent empowerment, community mobilization, and program implementation. Her professional journey has involved working closely with adolescents, young women, families, communities, schools, and diverse stakeholders to create enabling spaces for learning, leadership, and social change.
Her work at FAT focuses on grassroots outreach and mobilization, engaging with families and communities, supporting young women to overcome social and community-level barriers, and mentoring and hand-holding fellows throughout their learning journey.
Before joining FAT, she worked across education and gender-focused programs, facilitating conversations around gender equality, life skills, leadership, adolescent rights, education, and social change. Her experience also includes stakeholder coordination, training and facilitation, program implementation, community engagement, documentation, and field-level monitoring.
Swati's roots are in Amroha district, Uttar Pradesh, and she is currently based in Rohtak, Haryana. Her connection with diverse communities and geographies has strengthened her understanding of different social contexts and the importance of participatory and inclusive approaches to community work.
She believes that meaningful and sustainable change becomes possible when young women have the confidence, agency, knowledge, and supportive spaces to make decisions about their own lives. Her areas of interest include feminist approaches, grassroots mobilization, community-led change, adolescent empowerment, gender equality, and creating equitable opportunities for young women.
