Chanchal is a 28-year-old changemaker from Uttar Pradesh, currently based in Shanag village, Manali (Himachal Pradesh), who has been working with Feminist Approach to Technology (FAT) for over seven years. She is deeply committed to promoting gender equality, education, menstrual health, and women’s leadership in technology and social change.
Chanchal began her journey with FAT in 2013 as a participant in the Young Women’s Leadership Program, where she successfully completed all program levels. Over the years, she has grown within the organization — from participant to intern, and now as a Champion, mentoring young women and leading field-based initiatives.
She has worked extensively in Bihar, Rajasthan, and Delhi, mobilizing communities around issues of education, sanitation, menstrual health, and gender-based discrimination. Through community sessions, campaigns, and creative storytelling, she continues to raise awareness and shift mindsets towards equality and empowerment.
Currently, Chanchal coordinates with Level-3 participants, supports fellows through field learning, and strengthens local leadership among young women in Shanag. Alongside her work, she is exploring creative media tools and sustainable livelihood opportunities for women in her community.
Today, as a Champion at FAT, Chanchal drives community mobilization, field-based learning, and young women’s leadership across regions.
